Cucina becomes the Cu-queen-a as it replaces Sodexo as Herts and Essex’s new caterer.
For many years, Sodexo has been Herts and Essex’s caterer and trust me, it was a solid contender. The long running variety of cakes, sandwiches and pastas was a strong placeholder for the highly respected school’s canteen. However, it definitely had its problems that I’m sure the vast majority of Herts and Essex students could account for. Some include the array of mouldy brownies discovered, the pasta not meeting school standards and a collective build up of someone’s barnet in different foods.
These reasons are why it’s no surprise that Sodexo was given the boot and a new caterer was employed: but it wasn’t just any caterer. It was a caterer that provided such joy within their slushies, such fun within their fruit salad bar and such warmth within their homemade soup.
This caterer is Cucina.
Cucina brought in the splash of quality we all knew Herts and Essex needed. With its freshly baked cakes and lovingly packed sandwiches, each student can receive a delicious, healthier offering of food.
Well, that’s what we EXPECTED to happen.
Insead, we got overpriced, bug-filled grub. The food can come across very bland. Although the canteen staff are potentially the sweetest people we’ll ever meet, the pasta is extremely mushy. On the other hand, the pizza is extremely delicious.
