Autumn Make-up Special

When starting out in the world of make-up, it can often be really daunting to walk into a shop and try and determine what products will be right for you. So we thought that we would pin point some of the best make up products, which you can buy at really good prices in Boots or Superdrug. These items are all you need if you are just starting out with beauty products.
Rimmel, Maybelline and L’Oreal are our favourite brands when it comes to the drugstore. The prices of their products are extremely reasonable and the quality of them is up there with high end brands.
Starting with a primer, our favourite product is Rimmel’s ‘Fix and Perfect Primer’ (£6.99). If you apply this after you have moisturised and before you start putting any make up on, it makes sure your foundation (if you need it) stays on your face all day.
Next is foundation. Like all of these products, foundation is not essential for everyone and it is good to let your skin breathe when possible. Rimmel’s ‘Match Perfection Foundation’ (£7.99) is very lightweight on the skin and blends in really easily.
For a touch of colour on the cheeks, we love using the Max Factor ‘Crème Puff’ blushers (£8.99) in the shade Lavish Mauve. You only need to sweep a tiny amount of this onto the cheekbones and you can achieve a really lovely flushed effect.
To bronze up the skin, add a small amount of the Soap and Glory’s ‘Solar Powder’ bronzer (£11) with a fluffy brush (we love the Real Techniques buffing brush for this) and blend it out until there are no harsh lines. This will create really nice definition whilst still looking really natural.
Now onto the eyes. Here you have free scope to use whatever products that you fancy. Maybelline’s ‘Colour Tattoo’ in the shade pink gold (£4.99) compliments any eye colour perfectly and is really easy to wear and apply. Using your finger, just blend a small amount of this over the lid et voila!
Now for the trickiest part: the dreaded eyeliner. We all feel the struggle of matching the thickness of the lines on both eyes, so if you are rushed for time or just don’t have the patience (like us a lot of the time) you can always skip this step.
For mascara, if you’re going for a natural look, just use a little clear mascara to lengthen your lashes and keep them in shape. If you want to add some coloured mascara, we love the L’Oreal’s ‘Telescopic’ mascara (£10.99) as it lengthens and thickens without becoming too clumpy.
Finally, we come to the lips. It wouldn’t be an autumnal look without a deep berry lip and for this we love the Rimmel’s ‘Kate Moss’ lipstick in the shade 107 (£4.99). This is Zoella’s favourite too! And to keep the lipstick on all day, line the lips with the Rimmel’s 1000 kisses lip liner in the shade East End Snob (£2.99).
Voila! A beautiful autumnal make up look on a budget!
