Changing your household energy from fossil fuels to renewables is one of the best things you can do to lessen your own impact on the environment, but how can you do this? Well, it's relatively easy. All you have to do is find the right supplier for you and follow the steps on their website to enrol your home.
The table below is a summary I made from research on 'moneysupermarket.com' which shows many of the major green energy suppliers which are available. Things to look out for are: how long the tariff lasts - this is the 'Fixed Time' row - so that you know when you will have to find a new tariff, whether there is a duel discount for buying both gas and electricity, and the rates. If you know roughly how much gas and electricity your house uses in kWh, multiply this by the Unit Rate and add on the standing charge x the number of days you are calculating (e.g. 365). Some simple calculations will tell you which supplier is cheapest for you. When you decide on a supplier, follow the links at the bottom to register with them!
