Emily Dutton's Production of Sia's Fire Meets Gasoline Featuring Alex Oliff
The Prix de Lausanne in Switzerland, an international competition for young dancers aged 15-18 who are not yet professionals. With nearly 300 young dancers applying each year, this year only 43 qualified. Alex Oliff in 11 Castle was the only UK female qualifier to be selected and the first non-vocationally trained student to be selected for 25 years and the second in the history of the competition which started in 1973.
Since Alex's selection and participation in Switzerland, she has been selected for an interview with the Director of the Royal Ballet Upper School, Christopher Powney. After successfully passing her final audition for the Royal Ballet Upper School, she has gained a place and will begin her training in September.
Alex also featured as a performer in Media Studies student Emily Dutton's music video production for Sia's Fire Meets Gasoline. Alex's performance alongside Emily's masterful cinematography and editing have resulted in a truly spectacular overall production
