Special Appeal: Little Princess Trust Maddie McCarthy
On the 25th of February, 2016, I am going to be donating 18-20” of my hair to The Little Princess Trust.
The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to boys and girls throughout the UK and Ireland that have sadly lost their hair through cancer treatment. Each wig costs an average of £350 to make; therefore any donations generated for this cause will help the Little Princess Trust enormously.
So far I have been able to raise just over £700 which is fantastic as my target was £100! I am now pushing up and higher for donations because the bigger the figure, the bigger the help given to this fantastic charity.
We have all been touched by cancer in some way or another, whether through the experiences of loved ones, distant relatives, friends, figures in the media, or our favourite actors. For a child to lose their hair through a harsh cancer treatment must be terrible for a young person to have to endure.
Hopefully, by donating my hair and raising money, there will be a wider recognition of this fantastic charity and the great work they do, and the donations received will help to improve the lives of young people suffering from cancer.
