Red Carpet Looks
Emily Blunt, British actor, wears a white Valentino dress. Due to the fact that many stylists were not informed of the colour change to the carpet, a large amount of celebrities walked the carpet in white dresses. Unfortunately this meant that many of the looks blended into the background, taking away the true beauty of the designs. The off the shoulder cut turns a casual, white dress into a more elegant and sophisticated look for the Oscars. However, the lack of detail in the design could be argued to lack creativity and makes the dress less eye catching, compared to Valentino runway designs. What makes this look stand out more if from the extravagant use of accessories, such as the earrings, rings and bag which Emily wore this night.

Cara Delevingne, Model and actor, wears an asymmetric Elie Saab Couture dress. This dress radiates a very chic and old Hollywood vibe to the carpet and is the standard which would be expected to see at the Oscars. The unique, floral sleeve pulls together the whole look perfectly and the crimson shade draws more attention to her look in comparison to the white background, which is usually expected to be red. The split in the dress reveals the classy footwear that carries the same intention of the look created by the brand. The dazzling, bold silver jewellery captivates the audience’s attention and gives the brand a more expensive appearance, creating a positive name for themselves.

The chromatic shade of blue mesh bring to life the aquatic scenes of the film and creates a flawless image. The glistening and luxurious use of accessories establishes a delicate feel emphasising a feminine look. The cinching of the waist accentuates the character of the mermaid she is portraying.
