Taking care of your skin is very important, it will help you to reduce blemishes and spots, get rid of that oily t- zone, and altogether help give off a glow and bright look in the morning. A skin care routine does not need to cost so much and have to be over three hours long, sometimes a simple face wash is enough for you. However, everyone’s skin is different, so here are the best ways to get a good skin care routine for yourself. Some good skin care brands that are cheap and expensive include:
Byoma
The Ordinary
The Inkey list
Bubble
Soap and glory
Clinique
CeraVe
La Roche Posay
Drunk elephant
Glow recipe
Mario Badescu
No. 7
My top five-skincare brands would be: The first skin care brand that I like to use is CeraVe. With this brand, I like to use their face wash. The brand has a number of different face washes for the different skin types out there. Such as, the acne control cleanser, the cream to foam cleanser and finally the foaming oil cleanser. I prefer to use the cream to foam cleanser as it helps to remove dirt, oil and leftover makeup that may have been accumulated to the day, leaving the skin feeling cleansed, hydrated and refreshed. The other two cleansers help to break down oil based impurities on your skins surface, clear acne and improve the appearance of pores. Mario Badescu would also be another one of my top skin care brands, as although this brand is quite expensive, their facial mist is a really good buy as it helps to just wake me up a bit in the morning and also stop my skin from drying out. I know some people also use it once they have finished their makeup to make it not look as dry, but I still have to try this out. The Mario Badescu drying lotion, which is an expensive product (around £18.00), is useful for anyone struggling with blemishes. When using it I place a cotton wool stick into the lotion and then place a small amount on the top of my spot and then in the morning, once I have washed it off, the spot has reduced in swelling and redness and is less noticeable. Then after a couple of days, the spot will have completely disappeared. Another skin care brand I like to use is glow recipe. This is another expensive brand but it is a good purchase. The products I like to use are their glow moisturiser and the dewdrops. The strawberry moisturiser is around £19.00 to £32.00 pounds, and helps to calms the skin and brighten it all while helping prep the skin for your makeup and protect against environmental stressors that may cause fine lines and dark spots on your skin. The Niacinamide dewdrops, have the same consistency as the Ordinary Niacinamide serum, helps to hydrate and visibly reduce the look of hyperpigmentation, and at the end, leaves the skin with a radiant and dewy look. Another skin care brand I like to use is La Roche Posay. I only use one product from this brand (which is the sunscreen), but they also have many other good products as well. The sunscreen is around £16.00 and helps to protect the skin barrier from the sun. I use the SPF 50, which means that the product protects about 97% of my skin. My number one skin care brand would be, The Ordinary, as it is quite cheap if you are buying one of the smaller products, with a small moisturiser coming up to about £5.00 and a serum £9.00. I struggle with oily skin and blemishes sometimes on my forehead, so I bought the Niacinamide from The Ordinary, this product is one that I would recommend the most as it helps to improve brightness and protect the skin barrier, as well as not being too harsh on the skin. This product is available in boots anywhere and The Ordinary shop, which can be found in London. The moisturiser is a normal moisturiser that helps to reduce redness around the nose and get rid of dry skin, which can be helpful in the winter. Although there does not need to be any specific order that you do your skin care, this is the order that I go by:
Cleanser
Toner
Serums (Niacinamide is the best serum as it is not to damaging to the skin, make sure to not use anything that helps with wrinkles as this is too harsh for the skin and can cause damages)
Eye cream (this is not necessary, can use an under eye brightening cream, but make sure to not use anything too harsh as close to your eye)
Moisturiser
Face oil
Sunscreen (only at night, but use every day, even if there is no sun)
Cleansing spray
Lip balm (if your lips are chapped, possibly use a lip balm that is not perfumed, I use the original Vaseline)
Eyelash serum (this is optional)
If you need help identifying your skin type, possibly go to your local boots or even going online may help, here are some of these skin types:
Combination: oily T- zone and normal or dry cheeks
Oily: visible and open pores, shiny appearance
Dry: Tight and possibly flaky skin
