What artists lead did Herts and Essex students and the UK listen to this year?
Last week on Wednesday, Spotify released their yearly crazed festival; Spotify wrapped, which let its wide audiences show off their music tastes and this year they did not disappoint.
Like in years prior, Spotify pulled out all the stops with their new feature. “Me in 2023,” A character assigned to you from a list of 12 which includes the vampire, the hypnotist, the collector and more. You are then told the characterisitics that go along with your character. E.g. Alchemist, someone who creates more playlist then others or shapeshifter, always moving from one artist to the other.
The other new feature this year is “sound town,” matching you to a city based on your musical preferences. And that’s not it! Earlier this year Spotify introduced their “AI DJ,” feature which lets uses have their own bedroom concert tailored to their own music tastes and to keep in theme. You can now suit the DJ to your own biggest hit's from this year.
But most importantly Spotify is returning with their biggest features. Most listened artists and songs. Letting people everywhere show there crazed tastes but also letting them display the dedication that so many show towards our favourite artists. So who did we enjoy the most? Well from a poll conducted around are school we found that the most popular artists here were The Weekend which were then followed up by Taylor Swift and the artic monkeys. But how does this compare to the rest of the UK well this year the top artists from the UK were: Taylor Swift, Drake and The Weekend. While a different order, we can see that the overall stats from the UK match up with the results from the school.
