Thinking of going to the theatre this autumn but not sure about what to see? Then don’t worry – I have your back.
This is the ultimate guide to what musicals to see this autumn. It doesn't matter if you’re a musical geek or have never seen a musical before; eventually you should end up with an everlasting love of musicals. If you are considering going to see a musical and are not sure what to see or concerned about the price of tickets, then don’t fret as this article will include all you need from the price of tickets to the brief description of what each musical is about. I have compiled the five best musicals to see in the west end, so have a read and try not to worry about how much time you have wasted not ever seeing one and how much money you need to have to be able to see all of these five master pieces and more.
Number one on my guide is my absolute favorite musical Les Miserables. Les Miserables follows the story of a French convict who has escaped from prison just before the French Revolution. Les miserables is the longest running musical in the West End, if that does not convince you to go and watch it then I don’t know what will. Les miserables includes songs that you might have heard, like ‘I dreamed a dream’ and possibly ‘Bring him home’. You can purchase tickets from the price of £14.75 at the box office. If you are uncertain about whether this is the right musical to see or not, then go and watch the school’s production of Les miserables first.
The number 2 on my guide is my second favorite musical: The Lion king. Now I am assuming that most people have at least heard of The Lion King if they have not seen the film. If you enjoyed the film then I guarantee that you will possibly even love the musical more. It includes songs that are not in the film but are just as brilliant as the other songs. I must say that the way they create the atmosphere and the characters of the animals is truly spectacular. So the musical follows the story of a lion cub who 'can't wait to be king'. We witness the trials that Simba faces on his journey to be king. You can purchase the tickets from the price of £33 from amazon tickets.
The number 3 on my guide is Aladdin. Aladdin is also a Disney musical. Aladdin follows the story of a thief who gets the chance of a lifetime to be with a princess when a genie appears in his life. I promise you that you will absolutely adore the musical if you are a fan of the film. If you are not, don’t worry, you can still enjoy the pure talent of the cast as they portray the story through the exceptional singing and dancing. You can purchase tickets from the price of £17.50 from amazon tickets.
The number 4 on my guide is Motown the musical. The musical includes soul hits such as ‘stop in the name of love’, ‘My Guy’ and many more. If you are a fan of the older songs by artists such as Michael Jackson then it is the perfect musical to see. The tickets are relatively cheap; the starting price is £20.45 from amazon tickets.
The last one on my list is Wicked at number 5. Wicked follows the story of the wicked witch of the West through her school years and the true story of the Wizard of Oz from her perspective. It includes hit songs such as ‘Defying Gravity’. Wicked is truly excellent with an outstanding cast who will give you goose bumps from the minute they start to the very last moment. You can purchase tickets from amazon tickets from the price of £19.50.
