Arona Jones: I’ve never liked needles much, and no doubt I’m not alone. Nevertheless, I signed up to the register. Why? Because I could save a life. I can’t, in good conscience, let an animosity for being poked with pointy objects stand in the way of the possibility of being a lifesaver. A mild discomfort for me to prevent the death of another.
Furthermore, the process of signing up to the register was at all stages simple, quick and easy. No doubt the donation process itself, should it be required, is just as simple. Statistically, it is unlikely that you or I will ever be called upon to donate. However, if you do find a match, you will be helping them beat cancer - saving their life.
The gift of life is yours to give. Will you?
